Arriving at church
When you arrive newsletters and hymn books will be available to you. Additionally the newsletter is available online. All words during the service will be projected on our big screen. Large print hymn books are available.
Collection
A free-will offering is taken during the service. Plates are circulated around the congregation. Please don't feel obliged to give anything. If you do wish to give, the money will be used to support the work of this church, with a proportion given to Christian work in the UK and abroad. We would appreciate it if you would ‘gift aid’ your donation. You can also join our envelope scheme or pay by direct debit.
Communion services
These are held on the first and third Sunday mornings of the month. We receive communion in our seats.
The bread and wine are distributed to people by deacons/elders and we eat the bread as it is brought round. Then we wait until all have been served with individual miniature cups of wine (non-alcoholic) and drink together, to show that we are one body.

Market Street Church affirms the ministry of all believers and recognises that the Holy Spirit gives a variety of gifts to individuals to enrich our corporate life, witness and service in the world. The church supports a wide variety of activities for all age groups.
Major decisions are made by the gathered members at the Church Meeting, held on a Monday evening. This is usually a relaxed meeting with participation encouraged, though only members are permitted to vote.
Leadership is provided by the Diaconate, which meets on the first Thursday of each month. This consists of the Minister, church officers, serving deacons and elders. Officers and deacons are elected for a three year term. Deacons share pastoral responsibility for the worshipping community
